Packer’s work spirals back upon itself, restating and questioning structural devices and themes that borrow from nineteenth-century physics, twentieth-century popular culture and twenty first-century space exploration, as well as from systems applied in mathematics and taxonomies. The Sprue Etchings suite consists of eight etchings with aquatint, soft ground, spit bite and drypoint. The Sprue Etchings

Allan Packer was born in Canada in 1959. The mystery of the natural world set its mark on him at a young age and marked the scope of how far he was prepared to let his mind wander. Upon graduation from the University of Windsor (BFA, 1979) he began his life of art in earnest. He has since travelled and studied all over the United States and abroad; and has been exhibited extensively in the United States and Canada. He currently resides in Seattle, WA.
