“Set in Motion” is an artist’s book made up of images from Winograde’s larger, ongoing photographic project “Place and Time: Reenactment Pageant Photographs”, in which she photographs historic reenactments of stories from the history of Westward Expansion throughout the United States. The book includes four stories or legends from this history with corresponding hand-drawn maps: The journey of Lewis and Clark, the California Trail, the Oregon Trail and Custer’s Last Stand. Softcover, coil bound, 17 pages, 24 full-color photos & maps. Signed and numbered by the artist.

Set In Motion

Originally from northern California, Edie Winograde moved to New York city in 1992 and received a MFA in Photography and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in 1995. Her work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums including the International Center of Photography, Artists Space, the Front Room, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. She now lives and works in Denver, CO.
