Made of cast plaster this fragment of a brownstone facade measures about the size of an average address label. It is cracked, weathered and decorated with 19th century flourishes. This piece is related to Feigenbaum’s ongoing project Trainset Ghetto. Trainset Ghetto is voyeurism more than it is hobbyism. From a stock of nearly fifty buildings created both from scratch and from model railroad structure kits, Feigenbaum can compose an endless array of believable scenes that are brilliantly generic, and almost capable of triggering memories of a 1970s childhood in the bombed-out Bronx that never happened.
