Gellochio (from the Gellochio project) is a reflection of his creator. Jelochio (whose name can be spelled in a nearly infinite number of ways) lives out the artist’s trials and tribulations; his fears and his dreams. Gellockio, is a merchandising promo, a puppet, an action figure, a sweet misunderstood boy. Richard’s creative process is an integral part of the Gellochio story, the act of making of the puppet, book and video are revealed most directly in the video, but can be sensed through-out the project. Gellowekilo (Richards) aspires to find his artistic self but struggles against his own lack of identity (Gellochio, Gellockio, Jelochio, Gellowekilo). The Jellokiyo Project is a manifestation of fear, loathing but also hope.
