These digital drawings appear to be aerial photographs of planned communities. In fact, there are no photographs or scanned material used. Racine’s images, drawn freehand in the computer, explore conflicts between constructed landscapes, nature and our ideas of ourselves. Signed and numbered.

I Just Walked Away

Ross Racine, an artist living in Montreal and New York, draws freehand on the computer without the use of photographs. His printed aerial views, a reflection on design, the city and society, have been shown in exhibitions in the United States, Canada, and Europe, notably at Front Room Gallery (New York), the International Print Center (New York), the Musée des beaux-arts de Liège (Belgium), the Des Moines Art Center, and the International Print Triennial (Poland).
