Mark Strathy’s artwork is influenced by 1930s American Regionalism. As source material for this series of etchings Strathy naturally referred to 30s B movies on DVD. This etching is based on a moment in “The Curse of the Bat”. Strathy paused the movie and did a drawing, then used this drawing to produce the print. Signed and numbered.

Mark Strathy was a Professor of Art at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. He painted a mural project for the Connecticut Commission on the Arts at the Danielson Courthouse in Danielson, CT.

Mark Strathy’s work has been reviewed in Arts Magazine, the New York Times, and many other publications. He died in 2015.
