Born in Austria, Hubert Dobler has lived in Brooklyn since 2001. He studied at a technical school and graduated as an engineer, then went on to study architecture and art in Vienna where he received a Master’s in Art from the Academy Of Fine Arts. His work has been seen at Jack the Pelican Gallery, Open Source Gallery, Front Room Gallery and MoMA. Much of his work involves the transformation of motorcycles into (sometimes semi-functional) sculptural objects which exude idiosyncratic personalities and behaviors.
