In this series, the artist writes a description of what happens in a movie from memory, including as much detail as can be remembered (plot, costume, setting, characters etc). Then the text is laid over the movie’s theatrical poster so that the poster is only seen through the text of the description. Signed & Numbered. Available framed or unframed. Signed and numbered.
Amanda Tiller was born in Bristol, Tennessee in 1981 and received her MFA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2007. Though her labor-intensive projects, she investigates our ability to retain facts and information in our current ‘information age’ using her own memory as a case study. Her work spans various media including drawing, printmaking, sculpture, embroidery, and video. She has exhibited in New York, Japan, and across the United States, and was invited to be a resident at the Wassaic Project in the summer of 2011. Tiller currently lives and works in New York City.
